Soaring Above
Incredible aurora conditions within Tombstone Territorial Park, Yukon. During our time in Tombstone/Yukon, we were fortunate to witness many nights of very intense aurora. Located in the middle of the Yukon wilderness, we camped for 8 days in freezing conditions to capture the magic of northern Canada. This was one of the final images that my camera was able to capture due to a tripod failure that destroyed my camera and lens from dropping it onto a rock, and then submerging it into the lake. Luckily none of the images were destroyed, and I was able to recover this image, along with many others.
The glass like reflection of the lake provided a perfect mirroring of the aurora on this cold evening. Looking closely, you can still see the rocks below the surface of the water. Taken at Talus Lake within Tombstone Territorial Park, Yukon.
