Grandmaster Prelude
After nearly 4 hours of descending into a valley and scrambling over vehicle sized boulders, we came across the “entrance” to an area called “the subway”. This area is known as Archangel falls, which is located in Zion national park. This style of rock formation seemingly comes out of nowhere since most of the long hike presents more like a shallow river with cascades and rock formations all around. It isn’t until you are most of the way through the hike that the land starts changing and gives hints that it is quickly transitioning into these stair step like cascades.
The early morning light reflects off of a canyon wall in order to create the glowing color in the background.
