Similar to Peter Lik’s “Bella Luna” image. Taken in Joshua Tree National Park in California, this image depicts the moonrise behind the silhouette of a lone and twisted juniper tree within the park. I have always been fascinated with the moon since beginning my photography journey, but more often times than not, the moon is incredibly difficult to capture properly. My mission was to capture an incredible amount of detail present in the moon, something that cannot been seen to the naked eye. This required a specialized lens, thousands of images to capture the detail, and a lot of time to process the image. The end result is a wonderfully detailed rendition of the moon, letting the moon be the main source of importance in the photo.
