An extremely colorful sunset from the far north of Canada. Located in the Tombstone Territorial Park in the Yukon, this was photographed close to Talus lake. We were lucky during our 8 day backpacking/camping trip to photograph a series of sunsets that rival the best I have ever seen. One evening we hiked an hour from our campsite to find this river that we knew about, but wasn’t sure on the location. Requiring a lot of bushwhacking and crossing of streams, this image was created while standing on a steep enough decline that it was hard to stand up. The tundra of the north created a range of colors and textures that took us by surprise, and added to the pastel feeling of the images we got to photograph that evening.
