Peter Lik Canada
Lik Style Prints

Known for his incredible and vibrant nature photography prints in the United States, finding an alternative to a Peter Lik print in Canada can become challenging. Peter Lik has numerous galleries around the world, his first in fact in Australia, but most of these currently reside in locations around the USA. Even a simple google search for Peter Lik’s prints in Canada will show that your options are very limited. While many Canadians travelling to other parts of the world may fall in love with these pieces, but struggle to justify the initial cost, exchange rate, and bringing a Peter Lik print across the border to Canada.

About my

Experience with
Peter Lik’s Prints

Years ago I had stumbled across a Peter Lik gallery in Vegas that ultimately steered my vision and direction for my own photography. Getting to experience prints of incredible quality, being lit perfectly in his gallery left an imprint and ambition in my soul – to be able to match that level of quality in my own work and own way as a Canadian photographer. Returning back to Canada, it would take me years to develop the partnerships and skills required, but it was imperative for me on a personal level.

Incredible results with

Modern
Printing Practices

For the years I continued developing my skills as a photographer, I searched for a Canadian printer that would be able to do justice to the art. The prints in Peter Lik’s gallery had a 3d effect to them, and one that appeared to glow in the light that was supplied to them. It was a strong enough effect that the prints themselves appear to be lit from behind the print when the lighting is right. Fortunately for me I finally came across a Canadian printer that would be able to supply me with such a quality product. In fact, the first acrylic facemount print that was supplied to me gave me a moment of eureka as I had found the quality of print and materials I was looking for. This is of course a partnership with the printer that I still have to this day.

Personal

Artistic
Mission

My mission in my photographic endeavor is to produce incredible quality pieces of art as an alternative to Peter Lik for my fellow Canadians. Regardless of the quality, I want to be able to serve these at a much more economical price. While you still get what you pay for when it comes to art, you need not pay 10,000 dollars and up to get something extraordinary. I believe in top quality customer service and communication to ensure you get exactly what you want out of the art for your home.

Price comparison

My personal philosophy with my artwork is to offer a premium product alternative at a more reasonable price, and not the highly premium prices you pay for a Peter Lik piece. In the art world, you still get what you pay for, but it need not be stratospheric. This is where my alternative to Peter Lik pieces come into play:

Print Style and Options

Now I am able to produce these unique print pieces that absolutely jump off of the print and grab attention. The materials and process allows the print to appear to be almost 3 dimensional in it’s presentation. The special print surfaces that are used for my prints reflect light and create a glow in the print that makes it appear as though you are looking through a window when viewed in a bright area, or when directly lighting the print. This effect is something that Peter Lik was known for in his prints, and sought out by me when choosing the printers for my artwork. In the end, it creates a very special viewing experience.

My artwork is now available in 2 different options: Acrylic facemount prints (using special metallic paper, and also ready to hang), and Acrylic facemount prints that are framed (also using special metallic paper, ready to hang). More information on the different print types can be found here: Print Options
