The famous Japanese Maple tree from the Portland Garden. This photograph is from my most recent trip to the garden, but this time it was in the middle of summer. What’s interesting about this tree is how different the colors can be from year to year and season to season. This time around I loved how the leaves of the trees produced such a unique purple/red tint, which is different from the typical blazing red, yellow, and oranges you get on this tree during fall. As well, I noticed how much of the moss had started to grow back on this tree; many years it has been less, and others have been more. It’s hard to get tired of capturing images and prints of something that is so beautiful and special, and I like to think the feeling in this image is unique to others on offer.
